Description:Gothic Cottage pictured on the corner of Lichfield Road and White Lion Street, Stafford.
This Grade II listed building was built as a house in 1840-42 on the site of Castle Church Parish's Workhouse. In the 1970s and 80s it was occupied at this time by Tony Boydon's photography business and Jane Boydon's Bridal wear shop.
Note the roof-top aerials: The X type was commonly referred to as a 'BBC aerial' and the horizontal ones as 'ITV’. The tall vertical one is probably a radio aerial. The car on the left is a VW 'Beetle' seen alongside an older vehicle whilst on the right there is a Morris Minor.
