Description:A poem taken from a notebook written by a New Zealand Rifle Brigade soldier stationed at Brocton Camp from 1917-19. He is writing about the interaction with women from the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. It sounds like they had a great deal of distractions going on which made their stay a little bit brighter.

There are quite a few local terms mentioned including the Barley Mow Public House at Milford which must have been a favourite watering hole. There was an altercation once when they accused the publican of watering down the beer. The New Zealanders were well liked by the locals and they were so well respected they had a formal leaving marching parade and presentation in Stafford when they left.
