Date:1920 - 1950 (c.)
Description:This horse-drawn single furrow plough was manufactured by Lloyds & Co., of Letchworth, Hertfordshire. The 'Landmark' was a lightweight plough sold for market garden use, and was a versatile and useful implement for farmers who owned smaller parcels of land. The parts are interchangeable and the same frame could be used as a potato lifter, ridging plough or hoe. As with other Lloyds & Co. products this plough is painted in 'vermillion'. Lloyds & Co. was founded in 1878 and continues today as a specialist in mowers. The 'Landmark' plough was one of the company's signature products. This object is now part of the Staffordshire County Museum collection, and was restored in 2007 with the assistance of MLA West Midlands' Supporting Stewardship grant.
