Description:Tombs in the churchyard of St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Colwich. In the foreground is the tomb of Francis and Elizabeth Spencer of Little Haywood. Francis died 28 September 1758, aged 43. Elizabeth died 26 October 1786, aged 78. They had five children: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Frances and Thomas. Only the eldest, Jane, survived their father. The Spencer's were living at the Paper Mill at Shugborough when their daughter Jane was baptised at Colwich Church on 30 March 1741. To the left is the tomb of Thomas Kelsall of Shugborough, he died 21 July 1771, aged 52 and his wife Mary (buried 1 March 1792). To the right is that of Thomas Shaw of Great Haywood, he died 10 May 1818, aged 79 and his wife Mary, the youngest daughter of Thomas and Mary Kelsall. She died on 1 December 1836, aged 87. Thomas died on 10 May 1818, aged 79. Behind is the tomb of Thomas Shaw of Longdon, son of Thomas and Mary Shaw of Great Haywood, who died on 11 July 1815, aged 35.
