Description:St. Mary's Place looking towards Greengate Street from near St. Mary's Church, partially visible on the left. On the left is Brookfield’s outfitters premises along with the ‘Bon Bon’ sweetshop and tobacconists on the corner. In 1965, Bratt & Dyke bought Brookfield’s Greengate Street shop. The company built a new department store here in 1967 before closing in 1973. The building was briefly Court’s furnishers and later it was subdivided with the Yorkshire Bank in one part for several years, currently (2026) it is occupied by a greeting card shop, the other part of the building is a branch of McDonald’s. On the right is the rear of the Ancient High House.
