Description:A colour-tinted postcard view of Bridge Street taken from Grapes Corner by the junction of Lichfield Road, Bailey Street and Newport Road looking north towards Greengate Street.

The public house on the left is the Grapes Hotel. On the right, in the foreground is a barber's shop complete with striped pole. On the right, in the distance the clock tower of the Royal Brine Baths can be seen. The open-sided tower was used by the fire brigade to dry their hoses and store their ladder. The large wall advertisement is for Goodall's, bakers & confectioners who advertised as 'The Tea Shop by the Fire Station'. The baths were demolished in 1977 when the building was found to be unsafe. Civic offices now stand on this site.

Postcard published by William Shaw of Burslem, posted in Stafford in 1917 but photographed several years earlier.
