Description:The building on the extreme left is the rear of the old Telephone Exchange which faced Mill Bank. It still stands (2026) as part of The Post House which fronts Greengate Street. Next along is No. 1 Mill Street, the former Star Inn which closed in 1955 and, together with the adjoining cottage at No. 2, was then let for housing. Both were demolished around 1969 to be replaced by a shop and restaurant. On the extreme right is the edge of Henry Burton's cycle shop which still trades today (2026).
