Description:This cast iron bridge, now numbered Bridge 72A, still (2026) spans the Trent and Mersey Canal at Great Haywood. It was built around 1770 to carry the carriage drive between Shugborough Hall and Little Haywood. A second bridge which took the drive over the River Trent was dismantled during the 1950s.
The postcard was franked in Stafford on 23 May 1905 and sent to an address in Small Heath, Birmingham.
