Description:This Grade II Listed Council School dates from 1905 and was built close to the corner of St. Leonard's Avenue and Lichfield Road, Stafford.
The school was designed by Stafford born Henry Thomas Sandy (1868 -1922), it had separate entrances for boys, girls, and infants. It was built to cater for the influx of Siemens Brothers & Co.'s, workers' children after their new Stafford Works opened on the opposite side of Lichfield Road in 1903. Many of the workers transferred from the factory in Woolwich to live and work in Stafford. The school opened in January 1906; children had previously been educated in a temporary school in the vicinity.
St. Leonard's Primary School moved to new premises at the nearby Kingston Centre (formerly Dartmouth Street Senior Boys School and Kingston Middle School) in 2023.
