Description:This unused postcard shows a copy of the front-cover of a 1935 Midland Red bus timetable for Stafford including Potteries Services. It features double-decker, charabanc, single-deck and coach styles of bus.
The reverse has a printed statement: "In 1930, to secure good co-ordination of bus and train services in the Midlands, the GWR and LMS railways bought half the shares of the 'Midland Red' - the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co. A fleet of over 1000 vehicles in 1934 made the BMMO one of the largest British operators, and they became well-known for technical innovation. All the buses shown here were to their own highly individual designs".
The postcard was published around 1960 by Mumbles Railway Cards and reproduces a booklet from the Alan Bishop collection.
