Description:A colour tinted postcard view which looks along Lichfield Road towards the junction with Wolverhampton Road.
The thatched cottages on the left have been replaced by a garage. The tall building with three gables was later occupied by Giles wallpaper and paint shop, with a section that sold glass. It then became the Browse antiques shop for several years until it was demolished and the site redeveloped. Browse originally stood between Drakeford Court (retirement apartments built around 2005) and W.R. Davies, Toyota Garage. The spire of the Baptist Church designed by Birmingham architect Ewan Harper and completed in 1896 can be seen centre right.
The postcard was published by R.W. Dawson, Stafford. It was posted in 1913 from Stafford and sent to an address on the Isle of Wight. Robert William Dawson was a Stationer, Newsagent and Tobacconist at 10, Bridge Street, Stafford in 1911.
