Description:A postcard photograph of Greengate Street looking north.

The front wall of St Chad's churchyard is on the extreme right. The adjacent timber-framed buildings dated from around 1500.The central portion with the sloping roof over the ground-floor bay windows was Dale's ironmongers shop. Lipton's provisions can be seen on the left at no. 46. Further along on the left is the Ancient High House with the Bear Inn opposite.

The postcard was published by Valentine & Sons and posted in Stafford in 1905.
