Description:Looking north on Greengate Street, Stafford towards Market Square.

In the foreground is a Zebra pedestrian crossing marked with Belisha Beacons. On the right on the corner of Martin Street is Briggs’ shoe shop, today (2026) occupied by a Starbucks coffee shop, with offices of Stafford Permanent Benefit Building Society above. Next to it is Turner & Co., general drapers who closed their business on the expiry of their lease in 1955.

On the left is a sign for Eymer Brothers, Dispensing Chemists and beyond is MacFisheries fishmongers and Jenkinson's cafe.
