Description:A snowy view on the south side of Eccleshall High Street.
The houses in the centre were numbers 73-75 which were later demolished to make way for John Pershall Court, a development of retirement housing which was built by 1967.
On the right, the lean-to shop premises with the large advertisement was that of Ireneusz Stanejko (known as Eric Stanejko) who was originally from Poland. He had served with Polish forces in Italy under British command, coming to England with his regiment in 1946. On demobilisation he entered the hospital service in Stafford. He set up this business of footwear repairs and watch repairer in Eccleshall around 1958. He later moved to premises in the newly built Selwyn Court in Castle Street by 1963.
