Description:This view looks north-west along Eastgate Street, Stafford, towards an area known as Pitcher Bank. Over the years most of the buildings in this scene have changed use on several occasions. On the left is Groucott's Fish and Chip Restaurant which in 1966 became their Coral Reef Restaurant. The building was later sub-divided and then occupied on the left by a dentist's practice and on the right by a solicitor's chambers. Next door the European office equipment shop later became a Branding Agency. In the centre is number 27, Eastgate Street which was soon to be Sliwinski's watchmaker and jeweller’s shop which remains today (2025). Next door the large building with bay windows and a pedimented entrance with columns is number 28; this is Grade II Listed building dating from around 1780, and it is currently occupied by a health spa. The adjacent white building is number 29, which is also Grade II Listed, dating from around 1800. On the extreme right the partially seen premises is number 30, Ashton's Heating Engineers, this is currently a menswear shop.
