Description:A sketch of proposed community centre for Great Bridgeford, coloured on linen, by Willis & Willis of Burslem, drawn in 1948. After 12 years of planning and fundraising, Great Bridgeford Village Hall was opened on 12 October 1957 by the Chair of Staffordshire County Council, Alderman A G B Owen. The building cost £6,000 and replaced the earlier wooden Recreation Room which had been an army hut acquired from the training camps on Cannock Chase after World War One.
