Description:We do not have records of where the cricket team played but there were recreation grounds in the Clayton area at Redgate, near Northwood Lane.
Fred Everitt (who owned the camera that took this photograph) can be seen on the back row second on the right. Fred was an amateur photographer who lived in a house called 'Sunnyside' at the top of Northwood Lane. Wilfrid Edwin Bowers can be seen on the backrow in the centre. Wilfrid was the son of Walter and Elizabeth Bowers. Sadly, Wilfrid died in 1930, aged 25, in hospital having contracted measles. Walter was the village police officer.
