Description:Stafford Borough and British Legion Brass Band inside Stafford Borough Hall with trophies won at a competition at Digbeth Hall, Birmingham in about 1970. Back row: Tommy Hughes, David Williams, Douglas Brew, ?, Ken Lakin, ?, David LeMaistre, Master Pegram, Miss Pegram, Paul Price and ?. Front row: John price, George Bohanon, Fred Price, ?, Sam Hartshorne (conuctor), Eddie Barratt, Jessie Woodward, Master Pegram and Bill Pegram. Stafford Brass Band was formed at the English Electric Lichfield Road works during World War II. In the late 1940s the band moved to the Royal British Legion headquarters in Eastgate Street and became Stafford British Legion Band. The band was also later known as the Stafford Borough and British Legion Band and Stafford Concert Brass.
