Description:Kevin Hall states that in its original designation of 'The Colliers Arms', this public house appeared in an 1834 trades directory.

Mr John Williams has kindly provided some additional information:
"The original pub was named 'The Wind Peg', referring to the peg that secured the winding wheel on the local coal mines. That end of Dilhorne was known as 'Church End' or 'Peg End.' The pub was later renamed 'The Collier's Arms'. In the early 19th centur, a beer house stood opposite it at the end of the Church Yard."
