Description:Another area of the city that is undergoing great change. The Cauldon Canal runs from the junction of the Trent & Mersey canal at Etruria Locks (Summit Lock) near Etruria Industrial Museum.

The canal ran from Etruria to Uttoxeter on the Derbyshire border. It was used to transport goods to and from the Staffordshire Moorlands market town of Leek, and also to transport Limestone from the large works at Froghall, where the canal now terminates.

Most of the building in this picture have now gone; the boat in the foreground is the "Milton Queen", and was used to transport pottery ware from here to a sister works at Milton, about five miles along the canal. This ceased in 1988. The area is being re-developed in 2006.
