Description:'Remains of a beautiful gothic Window at Tixall.' On the same plate is the view of the Tudor stone doorway, with pilaster-sided tablets of Sir Edward Aston's and the Royal coat of Arms [times of James I] above, also engravings of other Aston shields. Inscribed 'To THOS. CLIFFORD Esg, this plate of antiquities at Tixall is inscribed by His obliged servant S. Shaw'. Engraved by R. S. Basire after a drawing by Rev. S. Shaw.
