Description:Born at Darlaston Hall near Stone on 5 March 1885, Bernard Meakin was a member of the Meakin pottery manufacturing family. He captained Staffordshire County Cricket Club 1911-12 and was President of the Club from 1946 to 1956. He also played a few games in first class cricket for Gloucestershire and Cambridge University. He died on 17 February 1964 at Dunsfold in Surrey.
