Description:'The Workhouse at Tamworth, Staffordshire.' Showing a large two storeyed brick building with a high roof, chimneys, a cupola and a clock. The workhouse on Wigginton Road was rebuilt 1858-9. The workhouse later became St Editha's Hospital but closed in 1998. The site has been developed for residential use and the majority of the workhouse buildings demolished. However, the 1904 hospital block survives (in 2003). Artist: J. Buckler.
