Description:'Guy's Almshouses at Tamworth, Staffordshire.' Showing a large block of buildings at the corner of the street, running up both streets to the extent of seven windows each way. The building is Georgian [1724], of two storeys, and the doors are in pairs.'

Thomas Guy built his Almshouses in 1678 for seven poor women, with seven more rooms being added for men in 1692.

Thomas Guy became the MP for Tamworth in 1695, but lost the election in 1707 and later moved to London where he built the famous Guy's Hospital.
