Description:East south east view showing a large stone building, three storeys high, of the Early Jacobean period. It stands in a walled court-yard surrounded by a moat, with octagonal towers at each angle. Inscribed to William Jollife of Caverswall by R. P. L. L. D. Engraving by Michael Burgers for Robert Plot's 'Natural History of Staffordshire'.
