Description:Shows Galton Bridge which was erected over the Birmingham canal at Smethwick in 1826, seen from the tow path.Inscribed 'GALTON BRIDGE. Erected over the new line of the Birmingham Canal at Smethwick in the County of Stafford, in the Year 1826. From a Design by Thomas Telford Esq F.R.S.L. & E. To Samuel Ryland Esq're Chairman of the Company of Proprietors of Birmingham Canal Navigations this View is respectfully inscribed by his most obedient servant Richard Bridgens'. Drawn in zinc by L. Haghe after a drawing by R. Bridgens.
