Description:Pictured are seven firemen from the English Electric Co. Lichfield Road site in Stafford. They are holding the Chief Officer's shield and trophies following being voted 'Best Industrial Fire Brigade in the Midlands'.

Pictured left to right: Bill Allen (who once served at Stafford Fire Station), Frank Birtles, Howard (knocker) Dawe, Harry ?, Bert Harding, Glyn Jones and George Harrison.

Just behind the firemen is the Works Land Rover fire engine which was painted bright red and in the background is the English Electric Transformer factory and Offices.
