Description:Group photograph of Elkes' Girl Pipers in full dress, 17 girls in all. The girl in the middle wears a leopard skin and has a large drum. The other girls wear tartan kilts, plaid socks, velvet jackets, sporrans and tam-o-shanters. Some have bagpipes, others have drums. Two girls either side hold maces. Elkes' Girl Pipers were formed late 1934 and were popular attractions at shows and events in Staffordshire during the second half of the 1930s.
