Description:The Auxiliary Fire Brigade being presented to the Duke of Kent, Market Square. The Duke is speaking with Percy Moss, a former Royal Navy stoker. This photograph was taken shortly after their return from Coventry where they helped to fight the fires after the city was almost destroyed by bombing in November 1940. The Auxiliary Fire Brigade was made up of volunteers.
