Description:Elkes Biscuit Factory started life as Elkes' Cafe on the corner of High Street and Carter Street, Uttoxeter. It was here that Mr C. Elkes began to make biscuits in 1924. By 1927 demand for Elkes' biscuits had grown so much that the Dove Valley Bakery was opened in Cheadle Road, Uttoxeter.
