Description:This film shows the North Staffordshire Hunt meeting at Seighford Hall – home of Colonel Sir William Dobson – in 1934. Miss Rosamund Harrison, of Maer Hall, was Master of Hounds. The Hunt had a wide following from the landowning families, their tenant farmers and industrialists from the Potteries. Here we see food and refreshments being given out, and the hounds being very friendly with two young sisters – Sheila and Barbara Smith. As the Hunt leaves the Hall, we again see the girls – now standing in the lane. As Miss Harrison passes, the gentleman raises his hat and the girls curtsey. They recollect this being expected of them. Sheila recalls how Miss Harrison called out “Oh, how sweet!”
