Description:The Upper Lodge, built by Robbins in about 1827, can be seen in the centre of this photograph. The archway to the right was demolished in 1980, immediately prior to Queen Elizabeth's visit, when it was declared unsafe. The Victorian archway went over the ruined Medieval gatehouse.The original gas lamposts of 1900 can be seen to great detail in the photograph.
