Description:Sir Robert Peel, the fifth baronet, is seen here with his wife, the Canadian actress, Beatrice Lillie. The couple were married at St Paul's Church in Fazeley in 1920.
The Peel family home was Drayton Manor, built by Sir Robert Peel's (II) father in about 1790. The architect of the Manor was Robert Smirke, a famous designer of the day who had also designed the British Museum in London. The Manor had many important visitors, perhaps the most famous being Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1843.
Drayton Manor was demolished in the 1920's, leaving only the clock tower to remain.
