Description:A Daimler taxi stuck in the Bolebridge Street floods. The famous flood of 22nd May 1932 was one of the highest floods in the town. It resulted in the Council building a flood prevention schema soon afterwards. Tamworth is located at the confluence of the rivers Anker and Tame and so was liable to severe flooding before flood defences were put in place. Bolebridge street flooded regularly due to its close proximity to the rivers of Tame and Anker. This area has now been demolished.
