Description:Mr F.G. Allton, Councillor, insisted on breaking with tradition and not having a Church of England Service (in St. Editha's), but having his Mayor making in his own Methodist Chapel on Victoria Road. This Chapel was built in 1877, but closed as a chapel in the 1970s.
