Description:The building on the far left of the picture is Bowcock's Grocers. It has since become Haworth's White Hart Cafe. Behind the small tree in the centre of the picture is Old Stockwell House, the home of Joshua and later, Arthur Nicholson. It was replaced by New Stockwell House in the 1930s, the new headquarters of Leek and Moorlands Building Society. When the Building Society (now called Britannia) moved to Cheddleton Road in the 1970s the building became part of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's offices.
