Description:Mr Brunt played for Leek Cricket Club in the 1860s. He was also Vice President of the Leek Football Club.

Henry Brunt was born in Leek in 1836. The 1881 census lists him as a silk manufacturer, employing 144 hands, and living at Burnhill House, Fountain Street, Leek. He died in 1886, aged 50. He played a prominent role in the town's civic life, acting as vice chairman of the Leek Board of Guardians and as a member of Leek improvement Commissioners. the Brunt family business was later absorbed by Wardle & Davenport.
