Description:To become a fully fledged cooper after serving his apprenticeship, the cooper is traditionally "trussed-in". During the ceremony the cooper has to sit in a beer barrel and old beer and wood-shavings are poured on his head by his workmates, before he is rolled about on the floor.

2nd from left is Wilfred Goodwin.
