Description:The first storey of Cannock Library was opened by Jennie Lee, M.P. on 30 March 1957 and was built at a cost of £23,000. The library was built in two stages and the second storey, which included an assembly room and stage, was added later. It stands on Manor Avenue in Cannock and replaced a wooden hut which had served as the town's central library.

In front stands John Poole's statue. 'The Sower', commissioned in 1960 by Cannock Urban Council and installed on 3 April 1962.
