He worked at English Electric Co., Stafford from the 1930s to 1970 and became Chief Draughtsman in the Jig and Tool Section.
Keele Hall was built between 1856 and 1861 by the architect Anthony Salvin, and incorporated part of the hall built by Ralph Sneyd in the 1580s. Grand Duke Michael of Russia purchased the lease of Keele Hall for ten years in 1901, and had many visitors during his stay including Edward VII. The Hall was used as the Keele University library from 1949 until 1966, and it is currently used for lectures and functions.
