Description:On the extreme left of this scene are the premises of G.W. Wellings, Funeral Directors, who also ran motor tours and excursions.
The large sign above the first charabanc, which hangs over an alley-way between the buildings, advertises G. W. Wellings, Complete Funeral Furnishers. Also there is a smaller sign for Pratts Motor Spirits. Around this time Pratts had created a national operating network with some 3,500 sales agents around the country offering the company's wares.
All of the other buildings in this view remain (2024) and Wellings Funeral Services still operate from the same site in Derby Street.
