Description:A photograph of an engraving of the Ind Coope & Co., Ltd. brewery, Station Street, Burton-upon-Trent.

Founded in Romford, Essex, the Ind Coope company opened its Burton-upon-Trent brewery in 1856. The company merged with Allsopp & Sons Ltd in 1934 and became Ind Coope & Allsopp Ltd. A further merge, with Tetley Walker Ltd and Ansells Brewery Ltd took place in 1961 to form Ind Coope Tetley Ansell Ltd. which was renamed Allied Breweries in 1963. Allied sold a 50% stake in its breweries to Carlsberg in 1993 to form Carlsberg-Tetley Brewing Ltd, and the remainder in 1997. The brewery was sold to Bass in 1998 and now (2024) belongs to Molson Coors.
