Description:A view of Bass’s Old Brewery on High Street, Burton-upon-Trent.

William Bass founded his brewery in Burton-upon-Trent in 1777. By 1877 Bass & Co. was the largest brewery in the world. In 2000 Bass’s brewing business was sold to Interbrew. However, due to monopoly implications Interbrew had to sell the Bass brewery in Burton-upon-Trent along with the Carling and Worthington brands to Coors, later Molson Coors. Interbrew retained the rights to the Bass Pale Ale brand.
