Description:A view from the western Burton-upon-Trent side of the river looking towards St Peter's Church, Stapenhill. An old wooden footbridge crosses the river.

The church was rebuilt from an earlier church in 1881, principally funded by the Clay family and Burton-upon-Trent brewing firms. Rev. John Clay was the Vicar 1837-1877. At this time it was part of Derbyshire but also part of Lichfield Diocese, not being transferred to the newly created Southwell Parish until 1884. It was taken into Derby parish in 1924.
