Description:Christ Church was built in the lancet style in 1842-43 to designs by Joseph Mitchell of Sheffield and was a Commissioners' church.

The church was damaged during the 1916 Zeppelin raid and repairs were carried out. The spire was taken down in 1945 after being damaged by the massive explosion at Fauld in 1944. The rest of the church survived and is now listed Grade II. Christ Church was declared redundant in 1983, and the building was sold to the Elim Pentecostal Church.
