Description:This view looks north-east from the Market Place along the High Street in Burton-upon-Trent. On the left is Walker Brothers shop and on the right there is Ellis men and boys clothing shop.

Over the years most of the shops and buildings in this scene have been demolished and replaced. However, in the centre distance and left above the Hansom cab driver, there are two buildings that are still recognisable, one is the large building with a balustrade and urns on the roof, although the balustrade and urns have disappeared. This is currently (January 2024) a branch of Lloyds Bank and adjacent on the left of the bank there are two small gables on the roof which remain above the H. Samuels jewellers shop.
