Description:View from the Meadow end of the bridge, showing the bridge and buildings in the town. In the centre a Bindley and a Bass pub stand next to each other (The Punch Bowl and the New Punch Bowl), with a chapel and two malthouses to their right The scene was captured on the day the bridge closed in 1880.

This is one of a series of postcards published around 1912 by J.S. Simnett of Burton-upon-Trent using some of their earlier photographs.
