Description:The ferry crossing the River Trent between Burton town and Stapenhill. In the distance can be seen the Stapenhill Ferry House. The ferry struggled to meet with demand and in 1889 was replaced by the new Ferry Bridge.

This is one of a series of postcards published around 1912 by J.S. Simnett of Burton-upon-Trent using some of their earlier photographs.
