Description:In this postcard view two women in swimming costumes sit on the landing stage near the dam at the southern end of Rudyard Lake whilst a third dives into the water. A tourist boat is moored alongside.

Rudyard Lake is a reservoir and was constructed in 1797 by engineer John Rennie to feed the Caldon Branch of the Trent & Mersey Canal. It is around 2.5 miles long and covers roughly an area of 168 acres.
