Description:This panoramic postcard view looks north-west from the Canal Feeder towards Whorrocks Bank and Dunwood Lane, Rudyard. The Feeder is an artificial waterway linking the River Dane to Rudyard Lake.
In the distance many of the buildings in this scene remain (2023). In the centre the house with two wall dormer windows is Daisy Bank House and on the extreme right there is a group of buildings forming part of the Station Hotel, which in later years has been converted into apartments, known as Lakeland Lodge.
Published by the Scottish photographer William Sandeman who was based in Rudyard from around 1896 until the 1930s.
